Redwood City is large and sprawling, ranging from the Floridian resort vibes of Redwood Shores to the hillside luxury single family homes in Emerald Hills and Palomar Park. While Farm Hills has all the same geographical hillside benefits, home and lot size are the biggest differences, with a bit more grid style development. Redwood Shores is about 60% single family homes, most with a community HOA with the balance being townhome apartment communities. Picturesque within the community, as well as the neighborhood itself with its lagoon bridges and purposefully built greenways. Realtors often refer to Redwood City searches as the flats or in the hills, because a fair amount of the city is at sea level and for multi generational, young families or those that desire a bit more walkability, the flats of Oak Knoll and Mt.Carmel are desirable. Redwood City can sometimes be seen as a more economical option to neighboring cities, it definitely has some unique opportunities with combination commercial and residential setups, so it will really depend on what you are looking for and open to.
